Former Minister of Special Duties, Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, on Wednesday congratulated Nigerians for their resilience and ‘never-die-spirit’ in 2020 and congratulated them for witnessing a new year.
In a statement signed by his Media Office in Abuja, Turaki stated that Nigerians should be proud of themselves for surviving all the hazards that characterised 2020, and urged them to remain faithful that better days are ahead.
“As we celebrate a new year, I congratulate my fellow Nigerians across the nation on this significant feat. 2020 has been a year that has tested the best of us, yet, here we are, as a nation of great individuals.

“Despite all the challenges that have characterised the year, from hunger to insecurity, to poverty, to joblessness, to decayed and decaying infrastructure, to collapsed institutions of governance, to nepotism, all the way to despotism and inept leadership — Nigerians have had a tough year, but have survived despite all odds.
“As we begin this new year, we should all pray that it will be better, joyous and prosperous. We must all work towards strengthening our bonds of friendship and togetherness, with a view to building strong relationships and bridges of friendship across the various divides.
“As Nigerians, this year, let us all realise and appreciate that for bringing us together, Almighty God has a purpose for us as a people, and as a country.
“We must therefore work together to realise God’s purpose for us. Happy New Year to you and your families,” the former Minister said.
