Today, I join all Nigerians, especially our Christian brothers and sisters across the globe on this joyous occasion of the Christmas day celebration.
This is the season of love, reflection, and giving occasioned by the birth of Jesus Christ. In the spirit of the celebratory mood, I would like to commend Nigerians for their resilience in the last six years and urge them to continue to embrace peace and national unity as we prepare for a new year.

t has indeed been a very challenging period for all Nigerians. The goodwill, support, and cooperation exhibited by the people have largely kept us together as one indivisible entity despite the existing and new challenges that threaten our peaceful co-existence.
As we celebrate, we must be tolerant of one another and resolve to focus only on those things that unite us as a nation. There will not be light at the end of the tunnel, but a bright sunny day and it is only in a peaceful and secure atmosphere that we can achieve our common goals as a people.
I wish everyone a great Christmas celebration and a happy holiday.
