In a statement signed by his media office in Abuja, the Senior Advocate of Nigeria, called on citizens to work to build a better nation in their capacities, while calling on communities and leaders at all levels to work towards ensuring that every Nigerian has access to basic amenities.
“As we begin a new year, despite the economic crisis that has millions of our citizens out of work, and the rampant insecurity, that has presented setbacks for countless families and communities across the country, I am optimistic that Nigeria will be great again.
“We must look beyond our present problems, which are occasioned by the failure of those with the responsibility to address these issues and begin to look inwards at how best we can serve our nation and our communities as private citizens.
“This is a time when those who can, in their capacities must ask: ‘What can I do to make Nigeria better?’ ‘How can I improve the lives that are in my community?’

“May Almighty Allah gives us the strength, the means, and the ability to serve our nation, improve our communities, and rescue Nigeria this new year,” the former Minister said.
